Pastor's Corner - 9/23

Jesus tells us about two men whose lives could not have looked more different. One was rich, dressed in luxury, and feasted every day. The other, Lazarus, was poor, suffering, and lying right outside the rich man’s gate.

Then both men died. And suddenly, everything that seemed so important looked different.

The rich man realized too late what mattered most. He begged for Lazarus to warn his brothers. Surely, if someone came back from the dead, they would repent. But Abraham said, “They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them” (Luke 16:29).

God had already spoken. The problem was they weren’t listening. And God has spoken to us too.

So where is His Word calling you to respond? Is there a sin you need to confess rather than excuse? Have you been putting off responding to Jesus?

Dear Church, don’t wait for another sign or a better time. Listen to Him today. Don’t overlook the person right in front of you. Be generous with what He has placed in your hands. And above all, trust the risen Christ.
