Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. — Psalm 106:1

We often don’t realize how forgetful we are until life gets hard. When things fall apart—when the job doesn’t come through, when money runs tight, when our children stray, or our marriage strains—we cry out to God. And He hears us. But when life is good, when we’re comfortable and things seem to be working out, we grow quiet. Our dependence fades. Our hearts drift. We give God our words, but not our devotion.

Psalm 106 is an honest look at this pattern—not just in ancient Israel, but in us. It reminds us that we forget God’s faithfulness all too easily. We trade His glory for comfort. We exchange His presence for control. Yet, the beauty of this psalm is not just in its confession, it’s in God’s response. He hears. He remembers. He relents. Not because we are faithful, but because He is our Faithful Father.

Dear Church, let’s take time today to reflect. Where have you forgotten? Where has He been faithful? Don’t wait for hardship to remember Him. Let your gratitude lead you to worship during good times and bad times.
