Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. — Psalm 107:1

Psalm 107 opens with an invitation. Then it gives us four rescue stories—wanderers lost in the desert, prisoners in chains, fools suffering from their own sin, and sailors at their wits’ end.

Each story follows the same pattern: they were in trouble, they cried out to the Lord, He delivered them, and they gave thanks.

This is not just Israel’s story—it’s our story. We have all been lost, bound, broken, or overwhelmed. And in every case, God’s steadfast love has been the answer.

The psalm doesn’t just call us to remember; it calls us to speak: “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story” (v.2). When we share how God has rescued us, we magnify His mercy and give hope to others who are still in the storm.
Dear Church, tell someone what God has done. And if you find yourself at your wits’ end, cry out to Him. The same God who led wanderers to safety, broke chains, healed the sick, and stilled the storm can rescue you, too. His love truly endures forever.
