Pastor's Corner - 7/15

In Luke 11:14–28, Jesus casts out a demon, and the crowd is forced to answer a question that still confronts every one of us: Who is Jesus? Some marveled. Others accused him of working by the power of Satan. Still others demanded another sign. The miracle was undeniable, yet many still refused to believe. Their problem was not a lack of evidence but a refusal to accept who Jesus truly is.

Jesus responded by declaring that the kingdom of God had come. He described Satan as a strong man guarding his house, but then he spoke of One who is stronger. Jesus is that stronger One. Through his death and resurrection, he defeated sin, Satan, and death, rescuing all who trust in him. Because he has won the victory, we no longer have to live in fear or remain captive to sin.

Jesus also reminds us that there is no neutral ground. We cannot simply admire him from a distance. He calls us to hear his Word, trust him, and belong to him.

Dear Church, because Jesus is stronger than every enemy you face, trust him completely. Receive his victory, belong to him, and walk each day with confidence, knowing that your Savior has already overcome.
