Pastor's Corner - 7/29

Jesus knew that his disciples would face many reasons to worry. They would wonder how their needs would be met, what tomorrow would bring, and whether they would have the strength to endure what lay ahead. Yet in Luke 12, Jesus repeatedly tells them, “Do not worry.”This is not because life is easy, but because their heavenly Father knows exactly what they need.

Anxiety often grows when we focus on what we cannot control. Jesus redirects our attention to the character of God. He points to the ravens that are fed each day and the lilies that are beautifully clothed. If the Father faithfully cares for his creation, how much more will he care for his own children? Then Jesus gives this wonderful promise: “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).

The greatest proof of the Father’s love is found in Christ. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus has made all who trust in him children of God and heirs of his kingdom. If the Father has already given us his Son, we can trust him with every concern of life.

Dear Church, whatever is causing you to worry today, bring it to your heavenly Father. Because Jesus made you God’s child, you can trust your Father’s care.
