Pastor's Corner - 4/29

The disciples had heard reports that Jesus was alive, but they were still afraid. Then Jesus himself stood among them and said, “Peace to you” (Luke 24:36). Everything changed when Christ came near.

That is still true today. Fear often grows when we focus on circumstances instead of the Savior. Anxiety rises when we act as though Jesus is distant. But the risen Lord still comes to his people through his Word and reminds us that he is alive, present, and reigning.

Jesus also opened the minds of the disciples to understand the Scriptures. The Bible is not a random collection of stories. It is one unfolding message centered on Christ, his suffering, his resurrection, and the forgiveness he offers.

Then Jesus ascended in blessing, and the disciples responded with joy and worship. They did not leave discouraged. They left changed.

The same risen Jesus rules now. He still gives peace, opens hearts, and sends witnesses into the world.

Dear Church, do not live as though Christ is absent. Receive his peace, treasure his Word, and walk this week with joy under the blessing of your risen King.
