Pastor's Corner - 9/3

In a world filled with noise and endless demands, David’s prayer in Psalm 27 stands out with crystal clear clarity: “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple" (v4).
Notice that David is not asking for safety from his enemies or comfort in his circumstances. Instead, his one desire is to be near God, to live in His presence, and to rejoice in His beauty. David understood that true confidence does not come from favorable situations but from a faithful God.
Dear Church, Psalm 27 teaches us the key to fearless, faithful living. Our fears may be loud, but they fade in the presence of the Lord. Worship shifts our focus from what threatens us to the One who saves us. Prayer teaches us that even when we feel abandoned, the Lord never leaves us. Waiting on Him builds a courage the world cannot give.
What is your “one thing”? May we, like David, seek first the Lord’s presence—and find in Him our light, salvation, and stronghold.
